| 内容記述 | It is said that children’s self-esteem is very low in Japan (Furusho, 2009). We shouldn’t underestimate this situation, because self-esteem is “the key” to control all the actions of human beings. Now is the time to focus on the education for enhancing positive self-esteem. It is necessary to have an appropriate scale for grasping the state of self-esteem for that. So, I would like to introduce “the Self-esteem Scale for Junior High School Students” which was made up by me. It is a measure which consists of 30 items selected for evaluating the consciousness such as “achievement” or “interpersonal relationship” which are the essential pillars of self-esteem. The main elements of these items clarified by the factor analysis are as follows, “satisfactions and confidence”, “inferiority complex”, “aggressiveness”, and “social evaluation”. These four elements can be measured by sub-scales respectively. In addition, positive correlation was found between the total score of this Scale for Junior High School Students and that of the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (r=.63, p<.001). | |||||||||
