We shouldn’t underestimate this situation, because self-esteem is “the key” to control all the actions of human beings. Now is the time to focus on the education for enhancing positive self-esteem. It is necessary to have an appropriate scale for grasping the state of self-esteem for that. So, I would like to introduce “the Self-esteem Scale for Junior High School Students” which was made up by me. It is a measure which consists of 30 items selected for evaluating the consciousness such as “achievement” or “interpersonal relationship” which are the essential pillars of self-esteem. The main elements of these items clarified by the factor analysis are as follows, “satisfactions and confidence”, “inferiority complex”, “aggressiveness”, and “social evaluation”.
