In this study, “discussion” materials in Japanese language textbooks for elementary and junior high schools published in 2020 and 2021 were classified, organized, and examined according to the elements of “topic,”“process,” and “discussion examples”. As a result, more than 60% of the “topics” in both elementary and junior high schools was classified as the problem-solving type. As for the “process,” the number of elementary schools increased by about 35% compared to the previous year, and the number of junior high schools decreased by about 18% compared to the previous year. The percentage of “discussion examples” was 100% in both elementary and junior high schools. In addition, “Annotations” and “notes” were also found in almost all the materials. In addition, it was confirmed that the materials consisted of two-dimensional codes that allowed students to understand the contents visually and audibly, and the internal language that made thinking visible. This means that, by analyzing the “elements” and other factors, instructors can clarify the viewpoints that have to be taken into account in“discussion”. |
