留学生の日本語力の向上には，授業内のみならず授業外の時間も活用すべきである。授業外に進んで学習させるためには，学習効果よりも，学習者の積極性・能動性といった内発的動機付けを高めることが先決だと考える。本研究では，研究代表者が開発した日本語語彙学習ツールVocabulary Battlersの実践を行った。その結果，Vocabulary Battlersには教育的効果だけでなく，学習者の内発的動機付けを高める効果があることが明らかになった。今後はさらに授業外においても利用できるような学習ツールの開発を進めていきたい。 |

In order to improve the Japanese language ability of international students, not only in class but also out-of-class study should be concerned. To promote students’ out-of-class study, it is more important to consider about how to bring out their intrinsic motivation rather than efficiency. In this study, we carry out a practice of Vocabulary Battlers, a Japanese vocabulary learning tool developed by the principal investigator of this paper. As a result, we find that Vocabulary Battlers has the feature making learners more positive and active in study, as well as enriching their vocabularies. This type of learning tools, which focus on out-of-class study, would be expected a further development in future. |
