内容記述 | This study clarifies the students’ views on music based on their responses to the question “What is music?” In the class, I asked them the question, “What does music mean to people?” and we considered the relationship between people and music. I analyzed the students’ texts using the SCAT analysis method and coded them as follows: (1) explanation of “music,” (2) psychological effects, (3) the meaning of music’s existence, and (4) “The Otoasobi Project.” The results of the analysis were as follows: (1) it is difficult to define the music because it is a unique event for each person; (2) many students are helped by the psychological effects of music in their daily lives; and (3) music is crucial and indispensable for individuals, and it creates connections and communication for groups, and it’s a means of improving the environment for society. As for (4), it became clear that even though the music of “The Otoasobi Project” was unfamiliar to the students and sounded disorderly, it was regarded as “music that everyone enjoys freely,” without scores or stereotypes. | |||||||||||
