| 内容記述 | Similarities between Mendelssohn’s Piano Sonata Op.6 and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Op.101 are often referred to, but concrete context to these claims is not fully established. This paper considered the circumstances that gave birth to these similarities, based on the Beethoven in the 19th century, Goethe and Zelter’s view of Beethoven and Mendelssohn’s youth and education. This research suggested that Mendelssohn’s fascination with Beethoven’s latter period Sonata’s, which was considered as extremely difficult to understand in his days, was partly because Mendelssohn had studied J. S. Bach’s counterpoint under the tutelage of Zelter from early childhood onward. | |||||||||
