In order to develop the middle-school ‘discussion’ textbooks of Japanese language and relate them to our instruction, we analyzed the textbooks which were published from 2013 to 2016. As a result, the ratio of the textbooks, which incorporated the two factors, process and examples of discussion and opinions, increased by 14%, while the ratio of the textbooks, including both examples, increased from 86% to 100%. Also, the factors such as procedure and point to note were organized in all the textbooks surveyed. This means it is essential for instructors to put importance on the relation of these factors, analyze them carefully, and to encourage to learners to discuss. |
