We investigated effective teaching styles using two surveys for students of music teachers, who had taken part in piano instruction for 37 years. For study 1, over 70% of students were beginners. They felt improvement in basic and expressive skills after 1 year and 8 months. Furthermore, we examined teaching that students felt was effective. The result indicated that correction of music scores made it easier to play, such as writing syllable names for beginners. Importantly, both beginners and experienced students valued mental support.
