We found that 1. ninety-five percent of students had not volunteered to help with sports for the disabled; 2. the percentage of students who were not interested in this kind of volunteering was significantly lower than that of students who were interested (P < 0.01); 3. the most common reason for students not volunteering was that they had no opportunity; 4. their motives for participation could be classified into six categories; and 5. their primary motive was a desire to contribute to society.
