 note = {Almost all schools in Japan have official school songs．
 The purpose of this paper is to submit two types of data concerning school songs and school children. (a) school official songs from 34 elementary schools in Izu peninsula，Shizuoka Prefecture were gathered．The words of these songs were analyzed and compared to the analytical data from songs of elementary schools in Fukuoka city. (b) Some college students’ essays on their school songs which they have sung in their childhood and adolescence were analyzed．Considerations of these data suggested that the school songs were helpful to teach pride and attachment to their schools and hometowns for students．},
