          <datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Other">This study explores MuseScore’s potential as a teaching tool and proposes its use as a standard tool in piano classes. Score reading is a psychological act with strict time constraints as well as a reflexive act in which the perceived pitch and rhythm must be immediately transferred to physical movement. There are two types of score-reading methods: instrumental score reading and vocal score reading, with the latter including solmization and a-b-c-dieren. Using the kindergarten education guidelines and the elementary and junior high school curriculum guidelines, I clarify why students are not good at reading scores, although they are familiar with music during pre-school education and have compulsory music classes. Additionally, I enumerate the steps taken by teachers to improve students’ score-reading abilities and also reflect on my own practice. The results of students’ efforts revealed that notation and arrangement using MuseScore is a creative learning activity that has the potential to foster reading, arranging, and musical thinking skills while having fun. I propose the use of MuseScore as a teaching tool in the future.</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description xml:lang="ja" descriptionType="Abstract">本稿は，読譜力養成のためにおこなった，楽譜作成ソフトMuseScoreを使用した授業実践を振り返ることにより，MuseScoreの教具としての可能性をアピールし，器楽演習の授業において標準的に使用することを提案するものである。
　最初に，読譜とは認知した音高・音価を即座に身体的運動に移さなければならない反射的行為であることを述べる。そして，読譜の方法について説明した後，就学前教育で音楽に親しみ，義務教育に音楽の授業があるにもかかわらず，なぜピアノ初心者の学生が読譜を苦手とするのか，幼稚園教育要領と小学校・中学校学習指導要領からあきらかにする。また，同様の課題を抱える保育者養成校の教員の取り組みに関する文献をレビューし，筆者の実践を振り返る。
　学生の課題の取り組み結果から，MuseScoreを使った楽譜作成と伴奏づくりは，楽しみながら読譜力を育むことができる創造的学習活動であることがわかり，器楽演習Ⅰ・Ⅱの段階から継続的にMuseScoreを教具として使用することを提案する。</datacite:description>
