To promote students’ out-of-class study, it is more important to consider about how to bring out their intrinsic motivation rather than efficiency. In this study, we carry out a practice of Vocabulary Battlers, a Japanese vocabulary learning tool developed by the principal investigator of this paper. As a result, we find that Vocabulary Battlers has the feature making learners more positive and active in study, as well as enriching their vocabularies.
